Modernist in the prisoner
As part of our project we have to watch the TV show from 1967 the prisoner as part of this project I had to do some visual research of modernist that could be used as something from the prisoner or might have looked like it was inspired by the prisoner.
The prisoner was broadcasted in 1967 starring and co- created by Patrick McGoohan, the shoe combined of spy fiction and science fiction. The shows is a bout a British secret agent who is held prisoner in a mysterious seaside village where his captors must find out why he resigned from his job
While researching modernist images related to the prisoner, I came across a modern penny farthing bicycle that is similar to the one that has been used for the shows logo showing another example of modernist images related to the prisoner.
As you can see from the images above both images look similar suggesting that the image on the left may have been inspired by the image on the right.
Looking at modernist images related to the prisoner has made me realise over the years many shows and movies have used a lot of gadgets that where used in the prisoner like chairs coming out the ground. Doors open as you approach them, Statues with hidden comers and remote control helicopters and many more. By watching the prisoner you can realise how many shows and movies made now have come up with many ideas they use.
